Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions, we integrate them into self-service Q&A. If you have other questions, you can get in touch with us Or send us an email to: george820606@gmail.com

Do you provide installation, commissioning and operator training?
Yes. For turnkey projects JCT provides installation supervision, commissioning and operator training, either by sending our engineers to your site or by guiding your local installation team remotely, depending on the project and on travel conditions. The scope covers equipment positioning and levelling, piping and wiring verification, no-load and load trial runs, process parameter verification on your actual formulation, and hands-on training of your operators and maintenance staff. We also supply a full documentation package — foundation and layout drawings, operation manual, maintenance manual and spare parts list — so that your team can operate and service the line independently afterwards.

What level of automation can you provide for the production line?
We offer three levels, so you can match the investment to your labour cost and quality requirements. Manual/semi-automatic control uses local instrumentation and operator-adjusted valves, which suits pilot lines and low-volume production. PLC + HMI control covers automatic temperature ramp and soak control, vacuum control, agitator speed control and recipe storage, with data logging for batch traceability. Full automatic / SCADA-integrated control adds recipe management by product code, alarm and interlock logic, and optional connection to a plant MES/ERP system. The right choice depends on how many different products you run and how strict your customers' traceability requirements are — we will recommend the level that fits rather than the most expensive one.

What information do you need from me to prepare a quotation?
To quote accurately rather than generically, we need six things: (1) the product you intend to manufacture and its specification, (2) your target capacity — batch size or output per day, (3) your available site conditions including power supply voltage, heating source (steam, thermal oil or electricity) and cooling water, (4) the required level of automation, (5) which items you want included in our scope versus sourced locally, and (6) your target commissioning date and destination port. If your product formulation is confidential, you do not need to disclose it — the resin family and key process parameters (reaction temperature range, vacuum requirement, viscosity) are usually sufficient for us to size the line. Send these details to george820606@gmail.com or via the contact form and our engineers will respond with a technical proposal and itemised quotation.h

What is the price of a single resin reactor?
A single resin reactor is quoted on the same cost drivers as a full line, but the range narrows because you are buying one vessel rather than a system. The four factors that move the price most are working volume, jacket or coil heat-transfer design and its design pressure, material of construction and surface finish (SS304 vs SS316L, polished or lined), and the agitator type and drive power. Additional modules such as the vacuum system, condenser, collection tank or a control panel are quoted separately, so it is important to define whether you need a bare vessel or a working reactor skid. Please provide your required volume, heating medium, maximum working temperature and product characteristics, and we will issue a specific price.

What is included in a turnkey resin production line project?
A JCT turnkey resin production line normally covers the complete equipment set plus engineering support, not just a single vessel. The scope typically includes: raw material feeding and storage, the main reactor, condenser and collection tank, vacuum system, heating and cooling system, filtering and discharging, automation and control system, and the connecting piping, platform and support steelwork. On the service side we provide process design, layout engineering, manufacture, factory acceptance testing, shipment, on-site installation guidance, commissioning and operator training. The exact boundary of supply is agreed in the technical proposal — some customers prefer to handle civil works and utilities locally in order to reduce cost.
+
How is the resin reactor heated and cooled?
Heating and cooling are normally done through a jacket (full jacket, half-coil jacket or dimple jacket) or through an internal coil inside the reactor, depending on your heat-transfer duty and cleaning requirements. Common heating media are thermal oil (hot oil) for high-temperature resin synthesis and steam for lower-temperature processes; cooling is typically water recirculation. The advantage of the coil type is a larger heat-transfer area and therefore faster heating and cooling, which shortens the batch cycle; the advantage of the jacket type is easier cleaning and less product retention. Temperature control accuracy is the key factor for molecular weight distribution and batch-to-batch consistency.
+
What material of construction do you use for the resin reactor?
Material selection depends on the corrosiveness of your formulation and on product colour requirements. Standard options are SS304 and SS316L stainless steel for the product-contact surfaces, with carbon steel used for non-contact structural parts. For particularly aggressive or colour-sensitive systems, the reactor interior can be lined or polished to a specified surface finish (mirror polish or 2B/BA finish) to reduce residue and prevent colour contamination between batches. The jacket or coil is built to the rated design pressure of your heating medium. The exact specification — plate thickness, surface finish, and lining material — is confirmed during the technical design stage after we review your formula and cleaning requirements.
+
Which types of resin can your production line produce?
JCT resin production lines are configured according to the resin chemistry, because reaction temperature, vacuum level, heating medium and material of construction all change with the recipe. Typical projects we design include alkyd resin, unsaturated polyester resin (UPR), epoxy resin, phenolic resin, urea-formaldehyde resin, acrylic resin, polyester and polyester polyol, and polyurethane systems. The same line can sometimes handle more than one resin family if the process windows are compatible; our engineers will confirm this during technical review. Because raw material ratios and reaction parameters differ greatly between resin types, please share your product specification and we will match the line configuration accordingly.
+
What is the difference between a resin production line and a paint production line?
They solve different process problems. A resin production line is a chemical reaction system: raw materials are charged into a reactor, heated under controlled temperature and often under vacuum, undergo polymerisation, and are discharged as resin. Its core equipment is the reactor, condenser, collection tank, vacuum system and heating/cooling system. A paint production line is largely a physical dispersion and mixing system: resin (often purchased) is mixed with pigment, filler and additives, then dispersed, ground, filtered and filled. Its core equipment is the high-speed disperser, sand mill, mixing tank and filling machine. If you intend to produce resin and then turn it into paint, JCT can design a combined turnkey plant covering both stages.
+
Can I start with a small pilot resin production line and scale up later?
Yes — and for most new projects this is the recommended path. A pilot line is used for formula verification, process parameter testing and sample production before committing to full-scale equipment. JCT can supply pilot-scale resin production equipment with the same process logic as the full line, so that the parameters validated at pilot scale can be transferred directly to mass production. Because the pilot line is built as a modular unit, the investment is significantly lower than a full line, and the equipment remains useful later for R&D and customer sampling.
+
How do I choose the right capacity for my resin reactor?
Reactor capacity should be sized on your required daily or annual output, not on the reactor volume alone. As a general rule, select a working volume that lets your batch cycle time (charging, reaction, cooling, discharging and cleaning) meet your target output. Production lines are usually configured in sizes such as 【 500L / 1000L / 2000L / 5000L】. If you plan to scale up later, we can design the line so that the reactor and the auxiliary equipment (condenser, collection tank, vacuum and heating system) can be upgraded in stages. Tell us your product type and target output, and our engineers will recommend the most cost-effective capacity rather than the largest one.

Can you send the detailed drawings of the machine to us before we place order?
We can send you a draft drawing of the machines, and after you place order and pay the deposit, our engineer will design the specific technicalparameters for you and send you the detailed drawings. Once you confirm without questions, we will put it into p
